Default where do you buy your computer components?

So, if you plan on upgrading your computer, what website/store do you usually go to?

Luckily the actual store is no more than a five minute jaunt up the road from me, so I don't have to wait for delivery. I just walk on in and get the stuff over the counter.

www.newegg.com

my source for all my computer needs. If I desperately need something and I don't want to wait for shipping, I usually go to fry's electonics.

Exactly the same for me.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/ is another place to pick up parts.

You lucky man - I didn't know Overclockers even had a retail outlet.

I heartilly agree with Azagoth: if you're based in the UK, you can't go wrong with Overclockers.

Best place to shop for computer hardware and just about everything else are legit deal sites. They let you know when deals are available for all kinds of junk from all kinds of vendors. So don't limit yourself to one store or online retailer. Use them all to find the best deals.

Go to the deals forums in the following sites and you will find deals from bestbuy/circuit city/etc to svc/newegg/etc for computer stuff, etc.
fatwallet.com
slickdeals.net
anandtech.com

i have a local computer store that sells a 8600GT for 140 euro, and 1 GB DDR2 memory for 80 euro. For me internet is like heaven.
i'm not american so newegg isn't a way to go for me.
i mostly go to a dutch website (www.alternate.nl) and get stuff there, they have a really fast delivery.

Best buy is terrible. Ridiculously overpriced on just about anything pc related. Circuit city is likely to be similar.

Printout online price (Usually from NewEgg) and pick it up at Best buy/Circuit City/etc.

Or just get it straight from NewEgg.

Yep, it's just a small shop at the front of their warehouse, not a large dedicated store. It's nothing more than a 20' x 20' shop with a counter and a few tills. The majority of their business is web based anyhow, but the store is a nice little addition for us lucky enough to be within walking distance.
